In the Wellington area of Medford, surrounding the MBTA Orange Line Terminal, CC&F united a disparate collection of underutilized lots, including an abandoned drive-in, truck terminals, discount retailers and record shops, and transformed those lots into 800,000 SF of transit served Class A office buildings and a 1,300 space, seven story garage. In the process, CC&F took acres of derelict waterfront along the Malden and Mystic rivers and turned acres of those waterfronts into handsome, inviting public walkways and parks. Collaborating with the State of Massachusetts and the City of Medford, CC&F also rebuilt major portions of Wellington Circle and Corporation Way, both restoring and improving traffic movement and vastly improving pedestrian connections to the MBTA terminal.
Several corporate tenants created major office installations and data centers, including the Boston Company (Mellon Bank), Federal Express, and Citizens Bank. In succeeding years, the Wellington area has grown and diversified with apartments and retail stores, creating a vibrant employment base and rich live/work/play neighborhood.
